HDiS (How Do I Say?) is a free travel companion that helps you say what you mean, the way locals say it. Pick your home country and where you're going, then type or say a phrase the way you'd say it at home, slang and all. HDiS gives you the natural way to say it there, what it means, how to say it, and a big-text view to show someone.
It's not a word-for-word translator. Type "Where's the dunny?" with Australia as home and France as your destination, and you get "Où sont les toilettes, s'il vous plaît ?", not a literal translation of dunny. It knows Portugal's Portuguese is not Brazil's, and Mexico's Spanish is not Spain's.
If something could mean two things, like "I'm stuffed", it asks one quick question instead of guessing. For allergies, medicine and emergencies it keeps every detail exact, but it's still an AI translation, not a certified one.
Sister app: WiCH (What's It Called Here?). Looking for something in a shop or pharmacy? WiCH tells you what a product from home is called where you are, the local brand to look for and which shop sells it. Try it at whatsitcalledhere.app.
